What it is
Initiated in 2012, the Golden Visa is a Residence Permit through Investment Activity, known as ARI (Golden Visa).
This program is targeted for all non-European Union (EU) or non-European Economic States citizens (EEA) who wish to invest, on their own or through a company, in any activity in the Portuguese territory.
Eligible Investments
Investment units or Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds in Portugal and held for a minimum of 5 years, qualify for the residence permit, as long as the fund invests a minimum of 60% in shares of Portuguese companies – Minimum investment requirement of 500 thousand euros in units of participation of a fund.
Applicant profile
Any individual over 18 years of age, resident in a foreign country, with a valid passport, who is interested in obtaining a Schengen area residence permit through an investment pathway in Portugal
